The long in gestation official debut album "Mechanical Minds" by Canadian ebm/synthpop band True Logik will be released Febuaray 1st, 2013. The album, recorded in Toronto, was produced by and mixed by Ken Scott. Emerging from the architecturally rich global hub of Toronto, True Logik traverses notions of past and future as gracefully as the capital Canadian city. At the apex of great structures and spires lies not just the auspices of what's yet to come, but searching for the very things that define us...that inspire us. If Toronto can be seen from the outside world as the culmination of all these ideals, then True Logik in a way lends itself to exploring many of these ideas. From the mind of Ken Scott (joined by his brother Greg on synths and Slava Polyakov on drums), the sound and themes lean towards the futurepop side of EBM while crafting their own unique vision. The brothers Scott are able to pull from a wide range of studio gear and experience to bring about their vision. It's been an interesting journey, beginning life originally as an industrial rock oriented outfit ("By-Code") and later moving toward a melding of synthpop, trance and EBM. The sound of True Logik conjures many things: illuminated multicultural night time cityscapes, feelings brewing under the surface. Some bands try to define fashion, others jump on the bandwagon. True Logik just wants to make you dance. After several years and numerous live shows and involvement in many compilations, most recently appearing in Endzeit Bunkertracks v6 among others albums since 2003, Mechanical Minds is finally here. www.truelogik.ca/shop/ www.facebook.com/TrueLogik/ |
